Exercise Physiologist

BHuman Mvt, BClinExSc

As director of Sunshine Coast Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology I have continued to have an interest within the health industry developing from my teenage years. Interest within the human body and functional movement lead to me complete a Bachelor of Human Movement (Rehabilitation) in 2008. My high level sporting background and further interest in rehabilitation lead me to complete a bachelor of Clinical Exercise Science (Exercise Physiology) from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2016.

As an Exercise Physiologist, I truly believe ‘Exercise is Medicine’. The benefits of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle and following regular basic nutrition can help individuals improve their daily life. These benefits include pain reduction; increased flexibility and function, as well as less reliance on prescribed medication for chronic diseases.

I have worked extensively in a number of fields including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, corporate health and special populations. My passion lies in musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation, individual strength and conditioning programs, Chronic back pain, pelvic floor rehabilitation within pregnancy for women and prostate cancer management for men. The delivery of services from a scientific approach allow for individuals to reach their optimal performance or outcome.

I enjoy working with complex patients, with multiple areas of interest. Problem solving and continual research into applied methods is what keeps SCREP’s staff and myself up to date with the latest applied training methods. Understanding that a ‘one size fits all’ approach is not suited within rehabilitation, I am able to pass on the importance of specific skills and techniques for each client and tailor these to their injury or complex condition.
