THERESE Sioestroem - Exercise Physiologist

BClinExSC
As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, I strongly credit exercise to be the key to a healthy and happy life. My fascination for the human body and movement stems deeply from childhood years with a background growing up training circus acrobatics spanning a decade. In 2014, I moved from Sweden to Australia to pursue a career in Exercise Physiology.
During my years of studying Clinical Exercise Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast, I developed a passion to help people in chronic disease management and musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation through individualised exercise prescription and education. In my profession, I follow evidence- based practices in my work with various clinical populations, delivering one-on-one and group exercise classes specifically tailored to client needs.
I thoroughly enjoy working with a diverse range of clients, and am especially interested in cardiovascular disease, metabolic conditions, mental health, chronic pain management, as well as neurological rehabilitation, particularly Parkinson’s disease.
I wholeheartedly believe that with the right attitude, commitment and appropriate guidance, everyone can find a way to reach their highest potential. In my practice I emphasise supporting people in overcoming their individual barriers, both physically and mentally, in the pursuit of achieving optimal health goals, promoting independence and increasing quality of life.
