LAURA Wade- Physiotherapist

As a registered Physiotherapist, I enjoy working with a wide variety of people to improve their quality of life. I am committed to helping our valued patient by giving advice and education to manage their condition, reducing their pain, improving their function and getting them back to doing what they love.

Participating in a wide variety of sports growing up here on the Sunshine Coast, I faced the challenge of multiple injuries and eventually decided to venture to Brisbane and study a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University.

My experience covers a wide variety of areas from musculoskeletal acute injuries such as muscle tears, joint sprains and ligament injuries to chronic conditions such as Osteoarthritic joints, low back pain, shoulder bursitis, rotator cuff tears, neck pain, post-surgical rehab and Plantarfasciitis.

I take a holistic approach to my treatments which includes a combination of client specific exercises, self-management strategies and hands on therapy to meet client specific goals. I have recently completed my Level 1 and 2 courses in Pilates Equipment and use the latest evidence-based practice to guide my Assessment and Treatments.

I have previously spent time working as a sports trainer with various sporting teams to gain experience treating acute injuries and returning them to play as soon as possible. These teams include Brisbane Lions Women’s team, QLD Hockey teams, QLD Soccer teams and I’m currently working with the Maroochydore Roo’s Women’s AFL team as their Physiotherapist.

When I am not working in the clinic I’m usually at the beach, running, spending time with friends or watching sport.
