REBECCA Holmes- Cardiac Rehabilitation
I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist committed to providing exceptional allied health services within the Sunshine Coast community. I graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with significant experience in cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, cardiovascular science, metabolic conditioning, chronic disease management and neurological rehabilitation, specifically Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
I work to provide people with the means to take control of their health through chronic disease prevention and management, which includes chronic musculoskeletal conditions, such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. I also provide injury prevention and rehabilitation, and have experience providing sub-acute rehabilitation for common joint replacements, such as knee and hip. I thoroughly enjoy aiding and witnessing the progress of individuals under my care, as they use exercise to benefit their health and wellbeing.
My passion centres around cardiovascular health; I have successfully used exercise interventions to manage heart disease and hypertension in clients, as well as providing rehabilitation post myocardial infarction (heart attack) and following cardiac interventions, such as open-heart surgery. My aspirations include becoming an integral part of the Sunshine Coast community through cardiovascular rehabilitation and a career in medicine.
My primary role as an exercise physiologist at Sunshine Coast Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology is to deliver group classes, including the Healthy Hearts program, and the Type II Diabetes program. I also provide one-on-one consultations and individualised exercise programs specific to a wide array of conditions. I believe that exercise should be specifically tailored to an individual’s needs, and I am dedicated to ensuring that I provide care and exercise prescription most suited to each client.
